Simply Pure Agro-Processing is a Grenadian agribusiness exporting fresh tropical produce to the United States, with soursop as its principal product alongside dasheen, breadfruit and hot peppers. Through the Grenada Exotic Fruit Production and Processing Project, the company plans to acquire and develop a 100-acre estate to expand reliable commercial supply and address constraints created by fragmented production, limited cold-chain capacity and high post-harvest losses.

The proposed development would place 60 acres under cultivation, comprising 50 acres of soursop and 10 acres of other high-value exotic fruits. The investment would also support modern irrigation, upgrades to the company’s existing packhouse, cold-chain logistics and processing capacity. In addition to increasing fresh-fruit exports, Simply Pure plans to develop value-added products such as pulp, teas, juices, powders and nutraceuticals, allowing the business to capture more value from the crop and diversify its revenue base.

The company has operated for six years and reports an existing packhouse, a United States distribution entity serving eight states, research and grower partnerships, and approved vendor status with a major US grocery chain. It also reports annual buyer demand of two million pounds of soursop, compared with the company’s current supply of fewer than 500,000 pounds. Grenada’s status as the only approved source of fresh, non-irradiated soursop for the US market provides a distinctive route to market, while the proposed estate is intended to give the company greater control over production volumes, quality and delivery consistency. The estate development and expanded processing operations remain at the investment stage.

Simply Pure Agro-Processing is seeking USD 4 million in equity and co-financing to support estate acquisition, land development, irrigation, packhouse and cold-chain upgrades, processing infrastructure and working capital. The project aims to reduce post-harvest losses from approximately 40% to below 10%, strengthen the company’s capacity to supply existing buyers and support wider market expansion.

The company projects that the investment could create 22 full-time and more than 40 part-time positions, with at least half targeted toward women and young people. By expanding local production and value-added processing, the project also has the potential to increase agricultural export earnings, strengthen linkages with Grenadian growers and build a more resilient soursop value chain.
