Rebuilding Soil Biology to Power Resilient Food Systems

Red Diamond Compost is a Barbados-based circular bioeconomy company developing regenerative agricultural inputs from locally available biomass, including sargassum and agricultural residues. The company serves agricultural, landscaping and horticultural markets with products intended to improve soil health, crop productivity and resilience while creating higher-value uses for organic materials that might otherwise become waste.
Its current product portfolio is led by Supreme Sea, a sargassum-based biostimulant, Liquid Sunshine, a plant-based biostimulant, and related soil-health products. These inputs are designed to support nutrient availability, soil structure and water retention while reducing reliance on synthetic fertilisers and other chemical inputs. The company is also developing the Diamond Matrix Bioconversion Platform, or DMX, a digital production and quality-management system intended to standardise biomass conversion across distributed production hubs while protecting its processing know-how. Its intellectual property approach is based on trade secrets, controlled know-how, brands, software and data.
Red Diamond Compost has products in commercial circulation and reports that approximately 2,500 units have been distributed through retail and distribution channels. The company currently serves Barbados and Grenada and has identified the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Guyana and Florida as priority expansion markets. It also reports that its biostimulants have undergone international chemical and biological analysis and field evaluation, including trials in Spain, the United Kingdom and Italy. Over time, the company intends to complement product sales with licensing, royalties, software subscriptions and technical services delivered through regional production partners.
Red Diamond Compost is seeking USD 3,000,000 through equity investment, strategic partnerships and blended finance. The capital will support expanded production infrastructure, further development of the DMX platform, stronger sales and distribution capabilities, and entry into the identified Caribbean markets and Florida. These investments are intended to increase product output and prepare the company for a distributed manufacturing and licensing model that can support growth without requiring ownership of every production facility.
The project has the potential to contribute to more resilient Caribbean food systems by supporting regenerative agriculture, productive use of sargassum and agricultural residues, and reduced dependence on imported synthetic inputs. Its regional production model could also create commercial opportunities around biomass collection, processing, distribution and technical services.
